Archives - Loan Policy and Procedure
The PWDCA Archives is charged with the mission to accumulate and store data related to the PWDCA and the PWD. Through these efforts the history of the PWD in this country will be preserved for years to come.
The archives are open to members of the PWDCA and those non-members interested in PWD history. The majority of archives material
is reference only, this due to a combination of factors that include preservation of historical data for ongoing and future research and U. S. copyright law.
Terms for loan of archive items are as listed below:
- Documents, published articles, and sound recordings - upon the users
request, a single copy will be provided at the users expense. In the case
of copyrighted material, copy becomes the property of the user, provided the
archives has had no notice the copy or phonorecord would be used for any purpose
other than private study, scholarship, or research; and the user has signed
the request form acknowledgement of Copyright law. No restrictions shall be
placed on non-copyrighted material listed in this section.
- Photos - in accordance with copyright law, no copyrighted photographic
work will be available for reproduction. As a result of this limitation, no
copyrighted photographic work will be available for loan to protect the integrity
of the archives. Copies of any non-copyrighted photos are available at the
users expense.
- Video recordings - Any non-copyrighted videos are available for loan under
the terms outlined below. In accordance with copyright law, no copyrighted
video work will be available for reproduction. As a result of this limitation,
no copyrighted video work will be available for loan to protect the integrity
of the archives.
In the case that the archives has received permission from the copyright owner to make a "protection video copy" for loan purposes, the work will be available for loan to those completing a request form. Video loan copies will be available in NTSC video format only and for domestic shipment only.
Terms of video loan will be a rental fee of $25 after a refundable deposit of $75, for a rental period of 4 weeks. Late fee of $25 will be assessed for every week items are overdue. Should lender of record fail to return archives property, payment is due to cover replacement cost of archives property (to include time and materials, recovery costs i.e. telephone costs, etc.).
